If nothing else, you can be the world's worst driver. I tooled around yesterday stealing and smashing shit, my partner screaming at me the entire time. It was pretty funny. When the case was done, I ended up costing the dept a shitload of money.

I had to quit the game midway through that case.

That brings up another question: if you exit the game mid-case, does it restart where you left off or does it force you all the way back to the beginning of the case?

It's down to the last time the autosave was active. It usually helps to have multiple addresses to run down in your investigation, as the arrival to said destinations always triggers it.

But no, I haven't encountered a full restart unless I chose to do it myself.

Two starred the murder where Greg what'shisface from Heroes was the husband. Apparently, despite the facts, the boss wanted me to pin it on the pedo. Either that or I just screwed the pooch on clue finding. But still this game is so great.

Solved my first case in Traffic yesterday. Got four stars despite fucking up the interrogation with the husband's buddy.

I had an idea how that case was going to end up but questioning people is really REALLY difficult.

Yep. I'm pretty good at reading people (and it is pretty obvious here when they're full of shit), but the response options are still sort of confounding.

You've gotta look up while selecting your question and watch them as they sit there. That'll give you your baseline. If they look the SAME after answering your question, they're telling the truth. That's all that I know.

The truth aspect is pretty easy to follow, but I'm talking more specifically about the "doubt" and "lie" options.

I surmise that doubt is for when you have shit to go on in terms of evidence, and just rage at the witness and lie is when you've actually go shit to catch them with.

But then again, I was drink-playing last night and forgot about common sense once I found that knife in the trash.

That 'knife in the trash' case was glitched on me. I confronted the 'hit and run' guy and got into a car chase with him, but he lost me...failing the mission. I restarted the chase and got into an accident with him. He took off and I got a new car. I lost him though, and the game never 'failed' me. I ended up driving all over the place trying to find him. I gave up and went to the morgue and continued the case, but the CHASE music never let up. It stayed on CHASE music until the end of the case, drowning out a lot of the dialog.

That chase was a pain in the ass. Having that music blaring at the medical examiner must have been a total dickpunch to the mood of the scene.

'The Fallen Idol' case has a great ending to it. I really dug the chase through the movie set and the final gun battles. Immensely satisfying.

Just got done shadowing the drugged up actress at the cafe.

Seems like it'd be a great one. Good to know it is.

Be really diligent in your snooping around for clues, Russ. Take your time on that one, especially when you get to the prop shop.
