Not to rub salt into an open wound for our Texas brethren, but we have a flood watch in effect for today and tomorrow. Considering it rained for 3 straight days last weekend, the river is already high. This could be an interesting few days.

We'll let you guys know if we start floating away.

Snowing here. Sigh. When I first went outside this morning (8 am) it was still raining. Never heard the rain turn to sleet either. Looked outside a few minutes ago and figured to see it clearing out. Not snow. Won't be leaving my dad's house today. Damn curvy, hilly roads are probably slick.

We had a pretty dense fog this morning; shades of The Mist played across my cranium for the drive in. Gonna hit 60 or so today, with the 30 degree weather finally hitting by the weekend.

I'm thinking the mild warm/Spring-like temps we've gotten since the nor'easter on Halloween weekend are harbingers for the bitter cold winter we're going to experience soon.

I'd rather have the smell of snow and pine, however hokey that sounds (and I know it sounds hokey!). This is our thing - among the many things that NYC specializes in, it's bringing an awesome, blinged out Christmas season. It's no fun watching everyone sweating their balls off in front of all the lovely holiday window displays. It's no fun pushing past people who are crowded in front of Macy's adorable "Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus" windows, because you're just dying to get to a clear spot for some fresh air on your face. I want WINTER!

Snowing in West Texas and the panhandle.

Funny you say that Lisa, Brittany and I were just talking about trying to do "Xmas in NYC" one year, trying to get a long weekend in the first week or two of December to check it out. I miss snow so much.

Yeah, well just be glad you're not doing it this year if you want the lovely snow covered NY Christmas, Billy. I can't promise snow when you DO get here, but with the weather right now, it would probably feel like TX!
