So I was playing my system last night with no issues and decided to play a game off my external drive and my PS5 decided to say FUCK YOU REBUILD DATABASE and it did and now I'm scared to use my system due to the reports of this shit bricking certain systems.

dude, wtf. This database rebuild random restart shit is pissing me the fuck off. So now I don't have my external drive plugged in and Im' hoping I can play a game without worrying that my fucking system is going to brick itself.

I'm fucking livid right now because the internal storage on the ps5 is fucking pathetic so my 50+ games are just out in the ether because I don't have the storage right now.

Anyone else who has a ps5 using an external HD (that came from your ps4) and if so, have you had any issues with playing games or the system just turning off?

That fucking sucks. I haven't had your issue yet with my external so far. Weird issue I had was an update downloaded for Avengers but wouldn't install. I had already moved Avengers to my PS5's SSD from my external on day one. I copied Avengers back to the external HDD and then tried to install the patch again and it installed. Then I copied Avengers back to the PS5's SSD and that went fine and it worked. Not sure what the issue was installing the patch on the SSD. Got an Astrobot and Miles Morales patch and those were fine. You can tell this system is coming in hot. The UI needs a lot of work, a lot of functionality they have on PS4 is now missing or gone on the PS5.

after removing my HD I didn't have any more errors pop up. I'm going to keep it this way for a bit until sony fucking says something as this is definitely not rare based on the amount of people I see online having the same issue.

Yeah the external hard drive thing is a big issue from what I've read.

They just patched in 60FPS + Ray Tracing mode in Miles Morales FYI.

Kind of annoyed that Pulse headset is just as difficult to find right now. I had just planned on continuing to use my Gold headset but the battery life has really shit the bed now that I'm using it regularly. I guess it's like six years old so that should be expected.

The more time I spend with the PS5, the more and more I like the controller. I need to play more Astro, but playing like NBA 2K, it's really awesome feeling the tension build as your fatigue sets in and you try to sprint on the trigger. Or when you are banging bodies in the post and it's shaking with each bump. Apparently LOU2 got an update concerning the bow, but I don't have that yet. I don't think I like the form factor more than the new Xbox controller, but the haptic is very cool. I really don't like the thumb stick positions, so I doubt I get any FPS on PS5, but I wonder how it handles gunshots and such.

Its a battle royale worms game. Nothing like any of the other games. Its awesome.
