If you have a half decent computer, enjoy RPGs, and don't have Witcher 2 your life is horrible. A controller is a must have though, combat with the keyboard must be brutal.

Combat is alright, but I'm definitely ordering a kerntrlur this week.

Not at all. I only put in maybe 3 hours to Witcher 1. There is some background, but the character has amnesia. You're learning at the same time he is.

I really can't stress enough though, have a 360 controller for the PC. It's damn near required. I only have two issues with the game really. One - It would be REALLY nice if each "hub" had a chest or something for storing your items in. You collect so much stuff, and especially around 12-15 hours in you start getting rare crafting mats, and I have yet to find a SINGLE recipe using any of them. So I am just carrying this shit around, taking up weight in my inventory.

The other thing is the difficulty...the opening hour is the most brutal part of the game, and the enemies get easier as it progresses and you get more skills and better gear. I'm 19 I think, and enemies fall before my sword. And my incredible adrenaline ability (get that ASAP and save ALL adrenaline mutagens).

And for gear, man, save your mats for crafting, and EXPLORE. I've found so many swords and other items from going into every single nook and cranny. If you don't explore you could easily end up finishing the whole first chapter with the original shit swords.

There are caches you can store things in nearly every zone in the first one. Have they done away with this in Deuce Bigelow: Monster Gigolo?

If they are there, let me know. I searched every corner of the first chapter hub, and found nothing. Another friend playing hasn't found one either, and looked some Steam forums and consensus was they are gone.

Oh, and if you tap the left stick in you get a pulse that shows stuff to interact with. They don't tell you that, and it's VERY handy.

For y'all playing Witcher, what're the stats on your computers? I want to get a new laptop by the end of the summer since I can't get into any of the goddamn classes I was supposed to take for the summer session.

Running a 2.8ghz core duo with 4gb ddr2 and it runs solid. I will definitely play a second time when I build my new pc. But really, any half decent laptop will probably have an i5, and should run Witcher fine.
