    • Well, I was doing a silent root for Mexico. (Just look at where I live). She somehow could see that on my face.

We're back! It was awesome, we had a great time, and yes - we both came back with a trunk load of pointless crap neither one of us needs - SCORE!!! Although George has an iPod and lots of CDs, his favorite form of music remains vinyl, so whenever we go to flea markets, he makes out like a bandit with albums. This trip was no exception - he came back with a stack of vintage stuff in great condition for almost no money. He also got a Peter Max tray, a "Welcome Back Kotter" mug in perfect condition for a buck, and a 1964 Queens, NY World's Fair drinking glass.

As for me - I got a huge, very cool Batgirl drinking glass, I got a Barbie as "Fay Wray" doll, which can never be removed from the box, because there's a big plastic King Kong hand in there holding her, and it's part of the display - so it's best just left alone. I got a great wooden jewelry box painted black, with a painted porcelien lid of a group of Japanese geishas having tea - not sure how old it is, but it was only a few bucks.

And then the pride of my trip - after the flea market yesterday, we were on our way out of town, but we stopped for lunch and hit one last antique store across the street from the diner. What should be in there but pretty much one of my favorite metal lunchboxes from when I was a kid, my 1972 Miss American lunchbox I had going into third grade. Beautiful condition, just a little wear on the edges, a tiny bit on the back, but clean and perfect other than that. George bought it for me as an anniversary present, and it now sits proudly on top of my fridge - next to my original "Charlie's Angels" lunchbox, my original Barbie thermos, and my original Monkee's thermos that George got for me as part of my birthday gift last year.

The weather was hotter than hell, but we managed! Oh, and some strange, creepy antiques vendor thought we'd bond faster and I'd buy stuff from him if he made comments about how big my boobs are. Yeah. So, I had that going for me, which wasn't nice. We're walking away, and I'm like, "Dude, way to NOT read a room!" So aside from that nice little creepy incident, it was a great trip!

        • Flea market LP search reminds me of this Achewood strip. Congrats on the finds, Lisa. That Fay Wray Barbie is kind of neat. I like that they did something neat with the packaging.

          • Welp, I'm off to the anime convention on Saturday. I'll be taking pictures, some of them will be for "personal use".

Now Ari, on the other hand.

                    • I'm sure he has had plenty of practice doing it himself. Ari probably gives Sarah tips (keep your mind out of the gutter).

Do that pulled pork man. It tastes awesome even in the oven. Also, let's play some games on the 360/ps3 this weekend.
