Completely and totally ready as I'll ever be to ride out the hurricane. Got my bottled water, my non-perishable food, my flashlight with plenty of batteries, and after I relax for a bit tonight, I'll tape up my windows to be on the cautious side.
I just really have to confess, I'm batshit scared out of my mind for my parents, who are still in Atlantic City (and my mom sounds very anxious and scared, which makes me feel even worse that I can't do anything for them). Plus, the MTA, in it's infinite wisdom, is calling in a lot of the transit worker to do storm duty - that includes George. He's gonna be right where it's hitting, but he said if it's really bad, they'll bring them inside. Which is very little comfort for me, knowing that he's working the actual storm. And... Jackson, NJ is officially locked down, i.e. roads are CLOSED to all vehicles save emergency and police until further notice. Meaning I ain't going nowhere for awhile.
