Ultimate Cut (with Black Freighter and Beneath the Hood inserted into the film)

Zach Snyder said all of the above live when I say the film 2 weeks ago. He even says that all 3 versions are done.

Captain Blue Cock of the SS Cobalt Sack didn't get the chuckles you had.

The most pronounced reactions were to the one-liners during Rorschach's stay (especially after the Fryerlator becomes a weapon) in prison and the extreme moments of gore (i.e., when Dan snaps the gang member's arm in twain/aforementioned Fryerlator scene).

I fucking loved it. For some odd reason, I mostly identified with Manhattan throughout the film. Crudup gave a great performance, even if most of it was in a Tron suit.

Jackie Earle Haley was Rorschach. It doesn't get much more impressive than his total embodiment of the character. Kelly Leak knocked it out of the park.

As for the rest of the cast, they did very well. I loved Pat Wilson's Dreiberg. He also got what Dan was about, and he nailed it.

Malin Ackerman was fine as Laurie. I thought she fit in fine with the ensemble and I have no idea where some of the "Meh"-ery is coming from in the geek shitpile of the internet.

Jeff Morgan : Comedian as Jackie Earle Haley : Rorschach. He just aced it.

Matt Goode was great as the androgynous Ozy. The Bowie of the Donald Trump set. I also don't get the "Meh"-ery for his performance either.

It was as close to perfect as a Watchmen adaptation could be. And with the supplementary bits being included in the future, I think the big picture will be just as astonishing.
