Disagree. The Stallone/Arnold flicks kept the violence directed pretty squarely at the bad guys. You never saw them willingly kill an entire shantytown of innocent civilians in a 'comedic' action sequence. The closest that we ever got to anything like that was the human shield that Arnold used in 'Total Recall'.

Well, we don't actually see anyone die in the shantytown. We just see them wantonly destroying property.

Well said. My main beef is that he can't edit his movies for shit. Too long. And I love BB2. Look at the piece of shit that is The Island.

                    And Bay's best movie?

THE ROCK. By a mile. And let me repeat it: I love BB2.

I'm having a 1999 flashback of myself thanks to that pic.

Just because we don't see the Hummer run over a makeshift crib with a sleeping toddler in it doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.

I will defend 'the Rock' as a decent movie, but that's really about it.

'Flatliners' is total and complete dogshit. DOGSHIT. SHIT FROM A DOG.

The first rule of filmmaking is "if you don't show the audience, then it didn't happen." And since it's a Bay flick, everything is definitely on the surface. And if anything is to be bothersome in that movie it should be the complete lack of respect to the dead! "Society can be judged by how it treats its dead" and all that.
