The first rule of filmmaking is "if you don't show the audience, then it didn't happen." And since it's a Bay flick, everything is definitely on the surface. And if anything is to be bothersome in that movie it should be the complete lack of respect to the dead! "Society can be judged by how it treats its dead" and all that.
