    Nomeansno's Wrong.

    The Stooges' s/t. And Funhouse.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' Let Love In and Abbatoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus.

    And Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

All remain potent. Like yellow cake.

Shocked no one mentioned "The Wall" yet. I considered not including it, but on further reflection, considering the massive effect it had on me as a gloomy adolescent (an effect I'm sure it has on many), I can't leave it out. Also, ya gotta add "Nevermind" by Nirvana. Other things may have had a more raw edge, but for sheer impact? This is the album that put them on the map culturally, and made droves of kids sit up & take notice.
I have to add I'm pleasantly surprised at the selections here. I kind of expected endless rehashes of the typical classic rock entries (Dark Side, Zep IV, Who's Next, Sgt. Pepper, etc.). I mean, they certainly do belong here, & if no one had mentioned them I'd say we were duin it rong, but it's refreshing to see some different shit get mentioned.
I like the way the line runs up the back of the stocking.

          The Cardigans:
          - 'First Band on the Moon'
          - 'Gran Turismo'

          The Cars:
          - 'the Cars'

          Dio:
          - 'Holy Diver'

          Therion:
          - 'Theli'
          - 'Vovin'
          - 'Deggial'

Regarding Nirvana: I think that they are one of the most overrated bands EVER. 'Nevermind' is good, I won't deny it, but it didn't grab me like it did some of you. I actually think that 'In Utero' is their masterpiece, but again...I think they're overrated.

It's hardwired into my adolescent memory bank.

More than one listen is required, though I will concede the point that people tend to lend it more credence than should be humanly possible.

Pinkerton is good, but I'll take the Blue Album over it anyday.

                      No need to be exclusionary.

And in this case, that's just silly, bordering on auditory self-flagellation.
