  • He is, but he is completely fucked for the rest of his life. Kinda sucks, he was sorta a hero to me as a kid. The show/doc/movie thing made you sympathize. Whatever, he fucked up an era of baseball and is very regretful for doing so.

    • Midnight Run.

Nice throwback buddy action-comedy. DeNiro and Groden were good, as was Yaphet Kotto as the poor bastard FBI guy trailing them. Also, Taggart from Beverly Hills Cop is in it as a low-rent bounty hunter.

      • I saw that on in demand. I own the DVD, too funny. Classic DeNiro.

        • Holy crap I just realized that was Taggart. Great movie. I usually hate Charles Grodin, but he was good in this. Or at least tolerable.

          • Saw confessions of a superhero a couple weeks ago on netflix. pretty awesome.

In the last couple weeks I watched season 2 of Arrested Development, Taxi Driver, Alien, They Live, King of Kong (re-watched), one of the Hellboy animated movies, The Machineist, Forbidden Planet, and John Carpenters: ProLife (from the masters of horror series). Pro Life was pretty horrible. Seeing Tom Jane in AD was funny shit - "I mean, I'm Tom Jane!" Oh and I started re-watching Carnivale - epic as shit. I wish Carnivale had more dork fanboys behind it to get 3rd season greenlit, but after 4 years, I doubt it will happen.

I got my laptop back from a friend they they were barrowing from me for a few years and it has S-Video out, so I have been streaming to my TV. blablalba not HD, don't care.

            Spadoinkle.

            • Oh Carnivale. I miss that show so much.

I wanted a cornfield showdown, and I got a game of good/evil hide and seek instead. So much unresolved threads that it should have had at least a tv-movie.

Apparently Ron Moore's beard didn't have the power over the Clancy Brown/Nick Stahl title fight as it does on Battlestar...

              • We tried to watch Carnivale and I only made it through like 2 episodes before I was bored. Even Clancy "I was in Pet Semetary 2" Brown couldn't get me to give it another chance. I still have the first two seasons, but I just don't see checking it out again unless I'm really bored.

                • Skip ahead about half-way into the season. That's when stuff starts going down.

                  • First season was setup (with a great reveal in the finale), and the second was beginning to let it unfold. And then HBO went all Jack Torrance on the show and buried it in the flower bed next to the patio.

                      • It is worth it, if only to imagine what could have been. Such an odd show. Some freaky stuff goes down.

                        • After seeing 2nd season, first season is indeed more dramatic and slow, especially at the start. It picks up though and seeing Drew Carry;s cross dressing brother be a psychopathic bad ass in the show is pretty cool too.

Rob seriously, watch it with the lady friend. Not that it is a chick series by anymeans, but she might have just enough attention span to coax you through the first couple episodes.

                            • Se7en: Still a great flick. Freeman and Pitt work awesomely together. Spacey still brings it. One of Fincher's more restrained works as opposed to Panic Room and Fight Club. The way this film is shot is gorgeous. Also great score. Nice and tension building, especially during the end scenes.
