There are mods out there on dragonagenexus.com that will give all of the skill trees to everyone. Want to make Merrill a spirit healer? Not a problem. Want to make Isabella an archer? Not a problem. Now you're not stuck with whiney ass Anders for the entire game.

Sure, if you're on PC, but most people aren't playing it on PC. It was a bad choice by Bioware. I restarted the end game when I lost Anders and realized I would never make it anywhere. Had to go back and change how I wanted my character to act in order to have a healer for the hardest part of the game.

You can get by without a healer if you have an absolute BUTTLOAD of healing potions and set up the tactics for your characters correctly. Personally, I'm gonna try that for my end battle because I absolutely cannot stand Anders' personality. He was great in DA:A but is just unbearable here.

I'm playing as a Rogue archer so it doesn't sound like I'd need Sebastian. Sad to hear Anders is annoying in this game.

Yeah, the one healer you get (unless you make yourself a healbot mage) is a whiny, psychotic douchebag.

I wish they had left the customization trees open instead of confining predetermined roles to certain characters. This above anything else is the biggest negative mark against the game for me.

I sided with the templars the second time out. Same end result of course, but I felt better shutting everyone the fuck up (and the revelation about the senior enchanter's knowledge of Mr. Crazy Blood Mage with a Penchant for Frankenstein Creations casts everything in a new light).

I'm about to finish my second playthrough (I'm playing a warrior, humorous dialog track this time...it's had interesting results) and I think I'm gonna side with the templars just to see how that plays out.

I'm trying to decide if I want to do a third playthrough...which would be mage, asshole dialog track. This game, quite simply, isn't nearly as replayable as DA:O, though.

Going through achievements I read how Templar siding goes, and it's...weird.

At least you can become viscount if you go the Templar route.

I think I'm gonna execute Anders when I side with the Templars. That should be interesting, as my female warden 'romanced' him. Considering that Bethany joined the mages in this playthrough, I'm sure that I'll have something interesting happen there as well.

was the least satisfying thing in the end. I wanted to use a battle axe or some giant cudgel to crush his dumbshit face in, but what do you get instead? A fucking butterknife.

That's what I did this playthrough...I only used Anders for his companion quests, that's it. I had Merrill maxed out on the shield and primal categories (she's a rockstar with chain lightning) and had a buttload of healing pots. If you have your tactics set up right it's really not an issue.

It really sucks that the devs made the one truly MUST HAVE companion such a whiny douche. At least Wynne was tolerable, personality-wise.

I still really dig on Fenris' character. If/when I do a third playthrough, I'm gonna try and romance him just to see how that plays out.
