So Rob and CJ covered their games in the latest show and picked lots of great titles. What say you guys? Here's my list-
1. Uncharted 2- Yeah, this game is damn near perfect. Fantastic single-player action, great story and characters, and a multiplayer mode that doesn't completely suck!
2. Modern Warfare 2- Sure, the single-player is kind of super-ridiculous but the multiplayer is sublime. This is really the only multiplayer game I'll need until the next IW game is released.
3. The Beatles: Rock Band- The PERFECT music game. It starts with a great foot forward because of the music but the visuals and new gameplay tweaks, along with great bonus features elevate it above the band-specific garbage the Guitar Hero franchise has pooped out.
4. Arkham Asylum- Who would have thought a Batman game could be good, let alone great? The combat is easy to learn but difficult to master and the world is a lot of fun to goof around in. It would have been nice to have a "save anywhere" feature, though.
5. Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box- The furst game is great and this latest episode of everyone's favorite pedo continues the trend. Great puzzles (although the last garbage pile can fuck right off), a completely bizarre storyline, and another excellent soundtrack create the portable game of the year.
There are plenty of great honorable mentions, too- Peggle, Flower, Poker Smash (I think this was '09), InFamous, Ghostbusters, Punch Out!!, Wii Sports Resort, and I'm sure plenty more that I didn't play or forgot.
