Same - I'm kind of interested in Star Wars stuff pre-Skywalker saga. Old Republic, High Republic, early Jedi/Sith history, that kind of thing.

They're looking for anyway to retcon or at least make the prequels interesting. Never gonna happen. Knock it off Filoni. There are like 3 things interesting about the prequels and they've already mined those: Darth Maul coming back, Clone shit, and Obi/Anakin shit."Looking like Nic Cage dressed in Kurt Cobain's closet. The Obi/Anakin stuff didn't really gel for me until Revenge of the Sith, I could give two shits about the Clones, and Darth Maul got far more screen time and became far more interesting in the animated shows. Plus his brief cameo in Solo, which bugs me because I'd be all about a Crimson Dawn film or series with Qi'ra and Maul doing a Godfather type of thing, but I'm not kidding myself that will ever happen.

The date range I've heard on Acolyte is 120-2 years before Phantom Menace. But, the level of distance between it and the Skywalker Saga seems to shrink everytime I get an update. My readers come to me for my thoughts and opinions. I've built myself into a brand

From what little I know about The Acolyte, it might be Sith-centric, and has a female lead, so I'm onboard. I just hope it's set as far from the Skywalker stuff as possible, but I do get what Troy's saying.
As for the High Republic stuff, the comics are OK (the artwork is kind of average, the stories are hit and miss, though some of the concepts are good), and I haven't had a chance to read any of the books, but Disney hasn't really been pushing the property that much past the initial announcement / launch. Hell, Hasbro hasn't released any toys from it either, which kind of surprises me. Fans seem to just want their Skywalker era stuff.

Loved Book of Boba Fett. Not sure why people were expecting a mindblowing final reveal or whatever. My readers come to me for my thoughts and opinions. I've built myself into a brand

By now, fans should expect big reveals when the season wraps up - case in point the final ep of the recent season of Mandalorian. Anything else is nice when it pops up, but pales when the last episode unspools.
Shame about the High Republic stuff. Maybe this year it'll spark interest, as it is an era I'd love to learn more about.

Filoni and Favreau control the final edit, so what the directors saw isn't always the final cut.

Season 3 - DUDE. THAT SHOUT OUT TO REBELS CONFIRMING EVERYTHING I WANT IS COMING WAS AWESOME.HYPERSPACE TRAVELLING SPACE WHALESEzra and Thrawn now....
That pirate scene was great and I dug the design of the captain. Also liked they brought back one of the few good things about Rise (Babu Frik). Was nice having a new Mando ep."Looking like Nic Cage dressed in Kurt Cobain's closet. I mean that as a compliment" - BillyG

All season has been pretty good (GIANT PIRATE SHIP WITH GIANT WHEEL!), but this week's was a bit of a misfire.

It wasn't the worst thing they've ever done in SW.Everything with Jack Black and Lizzo was dumb, but the idea of their planet and how it runs was pure pulpy sci-fi. The droid bar was fun. The Battle Droid chase and previous fucking with them by Mando was fun. The big fight at the end was pretty sweet. And finally Bo is back and ready to fuck shit up. It was was weird mix of feeling like a holiday special and great world building at the same time. My favorite episode? nah. The worst thing in the SW universe? Not even close.
At worst it was a Rebels filler type episode with one or two scenes needed for future stuff. But nothing to make me worried about the future of SW. I've already come to peace with even at its worst it's still entertaining in some form. But I can't defend Black or Lizzo. They felt like the shit you'd see on the cruise lol."Looking like Nic Cage dressed in Kurt Cobain's closet. I mean that as a compliment" - BillyG

Latest Mandalorian episode wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. The extra special guest cameos weren't quite as bad as some fans were making them out to be (the appearances, obviously a fun tip of the Mandalorian helmet - not full helmet removal, 'cause that ain't "The Way" - to a couple of celeb SW fans, felt more like what you'd see in a '66 Batman TV series episode), and they were probably onscreen for less than 5 minutes or so.
The last act was pretty slick. Wouldn't mind a Katee Sackhoff spin-off, a la Book of Boba Fett, sandwiched before we get a Mando Season 4... if we get a Mando season 4, that is.
