We started Season 3 last night. It was pretty jarring to be thrown right into the thick of things right away...no preamble, no ramp up...just GO GO GO right into the middle of the Barksdale case. This would definitely NOT be the season to start off the show on.

Don't worry about the in media res sterf. That shit'll be ridin' backseat fo' awhile.

Ah...so the OMAR factor is high. That's rockin' good news, as his first appearance in this season (in the wheelchair, stealing another stash) was pure gold.

Also, it's intriguing to see the apparent breakdown of the Daniels marriage. From all appearances, he's living at the office and putting up a charade of a 'happy marriage' for her so that she can run a successful campaign.

Bunny Colvin is also the shit (in addition to Carcetti's advisor).

ETA about Daniels: It's the least he can do for that shitty one-sided dinner conversation last season. (Also GOLD)

That dinner scene, cross-cutting between HIS wife and Kima's wife, was pure GOLD.

My favorite exchange, though? That would be Freamon and McNulty in Season 1 discussing Freamon's pawn shop duty.

Yeah, the "I'll tell your wife if you tell mine" dinner scene was classic.

And Freamon is just so damn awesome (Tommy Lee Jones totally stole his bespectacled condescending Ed Tom stare from Lester).

There was a Season 1 episode where Bunk picked up a gal at the bar and McNulty had to go over and retrieve him. Bunk was on the toiliet, smoking a cigar, and burning his clothes (gotta get rid of the evidence!) in the bathtub.

Is that the scene you're thinking of? If not, DON'T TELL ME ANYMORE!!!
