I ran that question through CHUD once and the head guys said you had to be there. Meaning you had to have been of age at the time (The 70s) to really get it. Fuck, I don't know. That's what I was told.

The show doesn't directly come across as shilling Kiss. But, Simmons as an entertainer exists for two purposes; shilling himself and shilling KISS.

The current season is getting much more loose and playing around with the others' endeavors. The kid launching that shitty comic and managing music. The daughter and her shitty album. The Tweed sisters and their hi-jinks.

I'm not convinced that this show is staged (the little couch sessions are staged but that's obviously shot in post-production). Definitely tightly controlled in post-production.

C'mon dude. Every ep Gene gets in a wacky adventure? The pony? The "art film" Nick's friend wanted to film at the house? The face lift stuff was good and seemed pretty real, but after the first season the premise got thinner and thinner.

The moments feel real though. Shannon giving Gene that guitar? Ehh, they're entertainers and perhaps I have been duped. I won't deny the tightly controlled post-production though and I think that's where people might say it feels staged.

The first time I saw the show: I was like; hey Sophie (the daughter) is pretty hot, what is she like 18-19yrs old.... NOPE SHE FUCKING 16 ... Well at least Shannon Tweed still looks good for her age
