  • Movie Moan Podcast.

Been doing the Movie Moan podcast with Phil Gee, our pal Kristina and Braindead Radio's own Ed Hocken for...awhile now. We took a few weeks off and now we have a new intro and the works.

Don't know if this is the proper area to link it, but if it isn't, I'm sure someone will let me know.

We at the Movie Moan podcast felt there needed to be a change. No, no, Daddy isn't going to live someplace else and it wasn't your fault, honey. But it's time to spice up the show or reboot, restart, revamp, re-whatever-term-you-prefer.

To prove we're not BSing you good folks, we've got a new opening song and closing, and a tighter running length blending together the "Moan of the Week" with film-news and whatever films your never-so-humble hosts (Phil, Queen Kristina, Ed & Jamie) had the chance to catch during the week.

For starters, the gang gives a spoiler-heavy discussion over Source Code. So if you haven't seen it, and honestly, it's the kind of movie that’s best to talk about after viewing it, just skip ahead a couple of minutes. In the "Moan of the Week," it's her Majesty's pick as they give their thoughts on Equilibrium, the sci-fi actioner caught in the cross-fire of being "a Matrix rip-off" and made at that magical time back when everyone thought, "Boy, Christian Bale would be an awesome Batman if they ever make another movie!"

In film-news, the British gentleman poses a realistic question: will Star Trek 2 make its June 29, 2012 release date when we're now in April and have yet to see any confirmation if J.J. Abrams is directing, if the script is finished and if they're going to start filming this fall as they've sworn they would. Also in store, reactions to that Green Lantern footage everyone nerdgasmed to, the thought of a Justice League movie in 2013 with alternate Superman and Batman actors than Henry Cavill and Christian Bale and concerns over Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows – Part II as its July release comes closer.

There is one more surprise we have up our sleeves, but we won't spoil it out loud. You'll have to listen to the show to find out. Folks, we mean it when we say we're back, we're here to stay and the show is better than ever. Thanks for your continued support, and hope you enjoy this new format as much as we enjoy doing it!

Jamie Williams has seen Scream 4! The world will shake when it hears his opinion of it. And in truly evil fashion, this week's podcast will not reveal that opinion until the end of the show (and relentlessly tease you about it until that time!)

As well as Phil & Jamie bickering over Your Highness, this week's Movie Moan (Week #2 of the reboot) sees a wide range of reactions, thoughts and crazy bullshit to fill an hour.

Phil, Ed, Kristina & Jamie discuss the trailer to Rise of the Planet of the Apes (OK, whoever cooked up that title automatically gets a kick in the balls!) and why the world should have gotten a zombie-monkey invasion movie instead. With Sunday officially being re-titled "Superman Casting Announcement Day," will the world want to see another origin story with The Man of Steel?

You hear that snickering? That's Phil and Jamie reacting to the title of the G.I. Joe sequel - G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes. Now why on Earth would fanboys bitch and moan about Jon Chu directing when your precious G.I. Joe movie is called Cobra Strikes?

And wrapping up is the "Moan of the Week" with the British gentleman agent picking Indictment: The McMartin Trial, starring the great James Woods. Whatever you take from the discussion, please seek out a copy of this fantastic HBO telefilm.

              Place your bets!

This week's Movie Moan comes to you live from the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City where we'll be putting everything on the line to make our predictions as to the smashes, bombs, sleepers and everything else in between at the box-office.

Which of the four comic-book superhero movies will make the biggest bank? Have audiences finally grown tired of Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow crap? How high will Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows – Part II reach? Is the general public as interested in Super 8 as us nerds are? How badly will Rise of the Planet of the Apes flop? And most important of all just how bloody likely would it be for Donald Trump to listen to Phil, Queen Kristina and Jamie?

You can download us as an MP3 below or watch us in video enhanced glory above. And just in case you want to skip a specific blockbuster prediction, here are the cliff notes:

              Thor (May 6th) - 3:50 mins
              Bridesmaids (May 13th) - 7:50 mins
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (May 20th) - 11:35 mins
The Hangover Part II (May 27th) - 17:35 mins
Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom (May 27th) - 22:25 mins
              X-Men: First Class (June 3rd) - 26:55 mins
              Super 8 (June 10th) - 31 mins
              Green Lantern (June 17th) - 35:10 mins
              Bad Teacher (June 24th) - 38:50 mins
              Cars 2 (June 24th) - 43 mins
Transformers: Dark of the Moon (July 1st) - 46:10 mins
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (July 15th) - 51:40 mins
Captain America: The First Avenger (July 22nd) - 56:15 mins
              Cowboys & Aliens (July 29th) - 60:15 mins
Rise of the Planet of the Apes (August 5th) - 64:50 mins

We hope you like reviews cause we have 'em up to the gills this week. While the Yanks Queen Kristina, Ed and Jamie have to wait another week for Thor, Phil's seen it and gives us his review. Meanwhile, Kristina and Jamie sat through Fast Five – you know, the film "where summer starts now" for us.

                  Here's this week's breakdown:

                  4:50 mins - 'Thor' review

20:55 mins - 'Fast Five' review

27:50 mins - Jamie bitch-blubbering through this past week's episode of The Office, "Goodbye, Michael."

33:10 mins - A brief chat on the trailer for Immortals (Spoiler alert: nobody was kind)

36:50 mins - The "Moan of the Week": The World According to Garp, from director George Roy Hill and starring Robin Williams.

Plus, this week's show has all sorts of visual surprises too. Watch us in high definition (yeah right!) Blip video above or download us as an MP3 below.

This is the only podcast where you'll get to choose the best direction for the Austrian Oak's future film career as he threatens to unleash Twins 2, Terminator 5 and Cry Macho! on us.

Plus, on last week's Movie Moan, all eyes were on Phil as the UK movie-goers got Thor before the Yanks did. Now this week, it's their turn, and this time it's personal. So here's tonight's menu:-

2:40 mins - Jamie and Kristina review Thor

19:50 mins - The gang reacts to what could very well be the death of Universal and director Ron Howard's ambitious plans for The Dark Tower.

26:45 mins - Wheeeeeeeeeeel of Arnold!

38:00 mins - The cheap blandness also known as the trailer for Conan the Barbarian 3D!

44:05 mins - 'The Moan Of The Week' - Wet Hot American Summer– a film that proves you'll never look at Christopher Meloni the same again and find out who was tasteless enough to reference Schindler's List in their review.

As usual, you can download us asan MP3 below but you won't get the full flavour unless you watch us in video.

This week's Movie Moan is just Phil and Jamie at the helm. So instead of discussing movie-news (It was a tad on the lighter lode side), the two spend the hour or so talking about one of their favorite subjects: the James Bond film franchise.

Ever since they had a "Moaning About a Movie" with On Her Majesty's Secret Service, they've been promising to profile one film specific to each of the six actors. For this week's podcast, their attention is aimed at three very distinctive entries in the still-thriving series.

3:20 mins - 1971's Diamonds Are Forever with Sean Connery (featuring Jamie's favorite film clip in the history of the universe - the toasty Jap).

20:20 mins - 1981's For Your Eyes Only with Roger Moore (featuring never before seen alternate endings which are no more absurd than the one they actually used).

42:50 mins - 1989's Licence to Kill with Timothy Dalton (featuring the full uncut version of Antony Zerbe's exploding head).

By that counting, that still leaves Pierce Brosnan and current 007 Daniel Craig. But don't worry, guys, they'll have their moment too.

As usual, download us as an MP3 below but watch us in video above to get the full experience.

One can't physically prove the friendship between people. But the closest you may ever find comes in this episode of Movie Moan. Not one to let his buddy Phil suffer alone, Jamie has done the unspeakable.

He paid money to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and in 3D. Here's what is on the menu for tonight:

3:30 mins - The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides review

20:45 mins - Thoughts on the trailer for the Fright Night remake

25:45 mins - Jamie and Phil are converted to the motion captured wonders of The Adventures of Tintin

28:40 mins - The world's first look at The Dark Knight Rises with how Tom Hardy looks as Bane

34:15 mins - Because you asked for it, the Smallville series finale. Or as it's been referred to over the years around TMT, Superman: Cockblock.

Download us as an MP3 below or watch is in all our glory in the video version above.

Along with an updated opening, Phil, Ed and Jamie are happy to welcome back their pal Lou to this week's Movie Moan. Now that he's finally able to return, the Wise-Sage, as Phil calls him, gives his two-cents on past news-items. Here's what's on the menu this week:-

3:40 mins - Lou's corner of wisdom informs us how wrong we are about 'The Dark Tower's' ambitious plans and the irony of the man who sung 'The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins' possibly voicing Smaug the dragon.

7:40 mins - Jamie paid money to see 'The Hangover Part II'. He should have stayed home.

12:30 mins - Casting updates on that Total Recall remake and just the overall feeling of "Really?" regarding its development.

                            20:30 mins - Trailer-reaction to The Muppets

25:15 mins - Trailer-reaction to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

30:20 mins - For the "Moan of the Week," her Majesty Queen Kristina picked Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father, a fantastic documentary that should honestly be seen before hearing the gang's discussion of.

63:15 mins - A not too subtle preview of coming attractions to Movie Moan.

Watch us in full video glory about or download and take us to the gym at the link below.

Judging by the title, this week's Movie Moan shows Phil, Lou and Jamie have tasteless humor and yes, they talk about X-Men: First Class.

In fact, this edition of the weekly TMT podcast is 100% dedicated to the Matthew Vaughn-directed, Bryan Singer-produced X-Men prequel. So if you haven't seen it yet (such as Queen Kristina who's there to field questions posing for you the audience, rightfully wondering this is worth her money after being burned twice by this franchise), probably best to go out and see it first. Then come back and listen.

The guys go into full-details. Long story short for those curious, all three loved it to varying degrees.
