The one thing I don't get about them is- where were they three or four years ago when the shit was really hitting the fan? I mean, the base answer is "there wasn't a black dude in the White House then" but that's just fucked up.
It's fucked up but let's be honest, it's the truth. Tea Party rally's are mysteriously devoid of (for lack of a better term) people of color. Lot's of angry, entitled, white dipshits who believe anything FauxNews peddles their way. I have family who love these tea party fuckers and I've sworn to myself that I'll never help them in their elder years because of it. Having political differences is one thing but these loon's are just bigot's in retard clothing.

It's totally the truth - no one helped these people for eight years, but you didn't hear any complaints when it was a white guy running things. Now we have an extremely young black guy on board, and these people are too dumb and uneducated to realize that he's on their side. Of course it's because he's black - he could hand each one of them a winning lottery ticket and they'd find something to complain about.

What you need to remember is that even though you disagree with them, or even hate them... they are entitled to have an opinion and voice it. That's why we have a Constitution.
I'll go on record and say that I myself, am a conservative. I'm not keen on the government taking care of every Tom, Dick, and Harry out there... I'm certainly not keen on the government bailing out every industry that employs people with no business savvy.
But I will go on record as saying these 'tea party' people frighten even me. And I don't scare easily.
I don't have to like what they have to say... and believe me, I don't, but I have to respect their right to say it.
Honestly? They remind me of petulant children. Crying when they don't get their way. I certainly won't dismiss them but if they don't shape up soon it'll be time for some punishment.
We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves.
Howard nailed it. Petulant children. Honest conservatives don't want anything to do with them, as Vin said. Josh, being as I also am stuck in Tea Party territory and work in oil/gas for chrissakes, recommend buying guns.
Guns being bought soon. And I agree they're allowed to express their ignorance just as I'm allowed to hope they die under ironic circumstances. You know, for teh lulz.

Vin wrote pretty much exactly what I wanted to say on the issue. I'm a fiscal conservative with more liberal social views (I consider myself to be an independent voter...I've voted Republican, Democrat, and Independent).
I honestly don't 'get' what these Tea Partiers STAND FOR, apart from yelling and disrupting things.

Basically what I'm saying is that, based on what I've watched so far, we should all listen to Matt more often.

Yelling & disrupting things usually only uttered on Fox news as they can't seem to speak/think for themselves. Respect their right to expression, but hate hate hate the message.

But the message isn't clear. If you're going to rant about something, you also need to offer a viable solution in order to achieve any kind of credibility. I haven't seen ANY solutions offered.

The solution they want can't be offered out loud. It's against the law. I'm sure some of them wouldn't agree but most would be ok with it. I won't even type it. Makes me sick to think about.

Yeah, this is the "solution" that scares me the most. This is a scary fucking bunch of people, no matter how much right they have to express themselves. It's when one of them decides to express themselves right up to that step.
