Falling out of favor

A.V. Club came out today with a piece of things you used to love but now can't stand. Most of it revolves around American Beauty. I can relate to this as seeing that movie at the time at around 15-16 while my parents were going through a divorce. I thought the movie was amazing. Now a days, I realize it's garbage. And that The Insider should have won Best Picture in 1999.

This also led to a lot of regret over enjoying nu-metal. Just what were we thinking?

Yea, I liked a lot of retarded shit up until about 1999 when I really started exploring the world on my own (not just eating up blockbuster films, shit top 40 music, and crappy chain food). The one thing I wish I still enjoyed was the JRPG. Many excellent memories with them.

I liked stuff like Nightwish, Bling Guardian, Rhapsody; symphonic power metal heavily mixed with Dungeons & Dragons themes.

Nightwish is still alright I guess, but the whole genre fucking blows.

I think I was the only person I knew that hated American Beauty when it first came out. I just never cared for the characters. And Suvari's theater head always bugged me.
