I love Sugar. Copper Blue and Beaster are amongst my favourite records ever (even though the latter is "only" an EP.) However, H.D. had the truly spectacular interplay between Mould and Grant Hart, while Sugar was, essentially, "Handsome Bob Mould + 2." "nu-metal" never bothered me one way or the other. And yeah, I realize no matter what I say I'm gonna get Dursted but honestly it could have been worse. We could be bombarded by rap(current shitty rap) 24/7 instead of "nu-metal." If I had to choose between the two?? Nu-metal everytime.
And here's the thing....I LOVE rap when it's done well. If you're rapping about being rich and having rims and big necklaces on your debut album, you're a fucking fraud. Period. And honestly I don't give a fuck if you bling bling or whatever the fuck the kids are saying today.
