The only people that should be enraged by a public healthcare system are the rich and the insurance company. Anyone else is an ignorant. There's no middle ground here.

And I love those ridiculous "facts" that the Canadian healthcare system is worse than the US one. My uncle broke his leg in Hawai last summer.

The bill? 8000$!!!!! For a couple of days in the hospital. And he got a surgury here. What did it cost him? Nothing!

Of course, our system suck, which is why my wife will be paid one year at 75% of her salary to stay home and take care of the next baby. I only get 5 paid weeks. It's nothing compared to the 8 weeks my cousin got when she got her kid!

It's just really sad for you guys.

Healthcare reform needs to happen here, but I'm not convinced that what we were/are going to get is the right answer. So complicated.

What's so funny about outside foreign opinion is that they really have never experienced the American Neo-Con machine at its prime. Right now, it's in the decline and this is the kind of shit we deal with.

Will it get better? Yeah. Right now, it's balancing out. We lose one, they lose one. Are we going to have Universal Health Care? Only when the Right has burned down the bridges to any other possible option. Conservative America's fear of socialism is hard to understand for normal Americans much less outsiders. Don't try to make sense of it. At times, it's a giant umbrella to cover anything from abortion to insurance to those troublesome minorities.

I get the Conservative America's fear of socialism. It's just completely irrational and I'm quite speechless by it. And beside, try explaining to them that Unless you abandon all services provided by the government, you ARE a socialist state.

And the fact that a "democratic" government loses it's majority with a 59-41 is quite funny, really.
