Re: netflix
i see where you're coming from now. and now i never bothered with an hd download from the 360. fuck the 360. hahaha. and i've NEVER had a problem with my downloads off comcast. a lot of the issues i hear about comcast, from issues with downloads to hd shows, i've never experienced.
also, you're assuming that an hd download is going to cost the same as a disc. you're not putting into consideration that because production is not needed for the digital form, they can cut the cost of the item; at least more than half of the retail price.
netflix is going in the right direction in allowing streaming of the movie as opposed to actual download. that way they can "protect" the media and still allow you to rewatch it again if you wish, provided that some hacker doesn't find another way to make a copy of that stream, which i'm sure they could.
and i like the physical copy as much as the next person, but again, digital forms of media saves on space, time, and sometimes money (the latter depending on whether you use itunes or not).
and again, netflix isn't looking to replace your purchaseable movies. they're just starting to head towards hd downloadable movies in the right way. unlike microsoft. still can't believe you rented a movie from ms' marketplace... and seriously, hot rod? couldn't you have seen that in regular sd?
