The 2010 Oscar Thread

I hate to try and handicap this shit because I don't ultimately care but Fincher pretty much has this in the bag. Same with Sorkin and Bale.

It'll be a real surprise if Bale doesn't get it due to momentum he's got.

Documentary can get weird: See Michael Moore, Morgan Spurlock and that dancing Indian guy.

There will be a Director/Picture split this year. I can feel it in my bones.

Unless, due to the Social Network/King's Speech split allows True Grit to arise as a consensus choice.

King's Speech also has the most Oscar noms for a film since ROTK.

I'm already on record stating that it's my favorite film of the year, so I honestly hope that it takes (almost) all of the major awards.

My personal picks (bearing in mind that I haven't seen everything:

Best Picture: 'The King's Speech' (wouldn't mind 'The Social Network' or 'Inception')
Best Director: Tom Hooper (wouldn't mind David Fincher)
Best Actor: Colin Firth (would kinda love to see James Franco STEAL it, though)
Best Actress: Natallie Portman (would kinda love to see Jennifer Lawrence STEAL it, though)
Best Supporting Actor: John Hawkes (this'll go to Bale, though)
Best Supporting Actress: Hailee Steinfeld (this'll go to Leo, though)
