      Nope, no alien terraforming. It's a have/have-nots story set entirely on future Earth. I've never read the short story but I guess this movie is supposed to stay closer to the source material than the Arnold version. No Quato, just Shawn's step-dad. Mr. White is a better Cohaagen than Mr. OCP but, then again, how could he not be? Cranston is King.

      The "Fall", a commuter train that goes through the center of the planet, was pretty cool.

      Oh, if you're familiar with the Arnold version you'll know all the beats this movie takes. It's just presented a little differently (for the most part). The security checkpoint scene is an almost direct rip from the original. There are shout-outs to the original film sprinkled throughout.

                                I don't know why, since I know nothing about JW Booth other than he was an apparently failed actor, but I can totally see this.
