BRAVE is excellent. It's not a classic but it's very, very good. I have some specific comments regarding it but to do so would spoil the second half of the film, so I'm going to hold off for now.

In the pantheon of PIXAR films it's a slightly lesser entry, but it's still excellent. I put it at around the KUNG FU PANDA level of quality...and yes, I know that isn't a PIXAR film.

Nowadays, I like Cars. More than Wall-E, Cars 2, at the very least. And I remember Toy Story 3 being good.

I'd put it a notch or two below HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON.

I'm very pleased that I saw this pretty unspoiled, because it DOES go in an unexpected direction in the second half. It was refreshing.

And I'm on the record for liking CARS. Loathe CARS 2 but don't mind CARS.

I'd put BRAVE above CARS 2, CARS, A BUG'S LIFE, and maybe MONSTERS INC.

Also: it was playing on 3 screens at my theater and all were sold out for the evening shows. It also played VERY well with my theater audience, and there was some applause at the end. I think this one will do just fine for box office.

By no means the misstep some are suggesting. Kris called it Pixar's Pocahontas. Not so sure about that statement myself.

Cool. Weirdly enough, I hold Monster Inc as an upper-tier Pixar for me.

I'm hot and cold on MONSTERS INC. It has amazing moments to it and a nearly perfect ending, but it also tries a bit too hard to be funny.
