Yeah. It doesn't surprise me, for the following reasons.
1) It's a really big guy flick. Feels like a Carpenter spectacle in the late 80s at points.
2) The supporting cast overpowers the leads way too much.
3) Daniel Craig is out-of-place. He feels like this sore thumb that never gets to develop.
Other than that, it was pretty great.
For me, Ford was incredibly miscast. Supposed to be an hard-ass authority figure but came off like a cranky old man. Kept thinking how much Clancy Brown or Kurt Russell would have been better in the role. To be fair, his stuff with the kid and Adam Beach worked.

What kills me about Red Wings is that the script was done in 2006. Casting and pre-lim shoots in 2007. The basic body of it done in 2008 and it's just now coming out?
What the fuck? Does Jabba show up dressed up as a Nazi and try to CG buttfuck Terrence Howard?

After a chat with Queen Kristina about Cowboys & Aliens and letting it sit on me more, it makes me happy that Abrams will (highly likely) direct Star Trek 2.
Because so far, he's the only director who's made material cooked up by Kurtzman and Orci's work. Get the impression he's rejected their lazy writing and plotting devices where as Bay and Favs accepts it.
