RE: Sin City - I sort of liked it at times, but I don't really look at it as having done much for Rodriguez's filmography, because he basically just used the comics as a storyboard and didn't really do much with the property itself. I know that probably would have reaped a lot of geek rage, on one hand, but on the other hand it's still too interesting of a property to have such a minimalist take on it. The city was sterile and felt like a series of soundstages (I know it was, production-wise, but I would have liked to see a more fleshed-out city in addition to the main cast of characters). I don't really look at the movie having so much of a Rodriguez touch as just being there - a direct transition of comic-to-film with little to no chances being taken with the property.

        The plot via CHUD:

The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Marin) his "holy" brother, and April (Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.
You read that right. The streets of Texas.

Ah! How refreshing! Another cinematic production from Mr. Rodriguez, a gentleman whose work I've followed since his debut film, El Mariachi, back in - HOLY SHIT! Did you see that badass knife-whip thingy he used in the hospital? Fuckin' AWESOME!

Think there'll be nudity like in the original trailer? I hope there'll be nudity. And more explosions!

                            "Introducing Don Johnson" was good.

And then Seagal had to show up with his tai chi steak knives.

                            I must see this.

(Still: fuck Hobo with his shitass shotgun.)

Hobo with a Shotgun doesn't deserve THE FAHEY.
