The Goonies: You're All Insane

I hate this film with every fiber of my soul.

Kids. Kids running around. Kids SCREAMING their lines. Kids SCREAMING THEIR LINES CONSTANTLY LOUD LOUD LOUD SHRILL FAT KID WON'T SHUT UP.

It's flat-out unwatchable to the point of pain.

What's the appeal for those of you that like it?

It has a certain charm to it - it reminded me a bit of those old Little Rascals/Our Gang shorts from a ways back. All honesty, though, for me it was a "one and done". I caught it in the theaters, and maybe once or twice on cable, and that's it.

Still, it did give us Chunk and Sloth, so...

I thank GOD that I didn't have to watch this film in the theaters.
I hate GOD for the fact that I was forced to watch this over and over again on cable with friends show frickin' loved the film. NOISE NOISE NOISE NOISE.

I WILL admit that the old organ scene (where sections of the floor drop away) is kinda cool, but EVEN THEN it's ruined by the fact that the kids are SCREAMING THEIR LINES the entire time.

I hate the fact that people my age consistently hold it up as this amazing movie when it's just patently awful and irritating, to the point where I've talked best friends out of watching it despite the plaudits of their peers. I want to sentence all the rabid fans of this fucking thing to a lifetime of endless sex with a reanimated Anne Ramsey.
