Path To War is good as I recall. Sinise, really? Don't recall that.

LBJ was a bit of a bastard as I recall. Not quite as sympathetic as he is portrayed in the movie.

To know LBJ means you'll have to read Robert Caro's books on him. I've only read one of them and there's a reason why each one is huge.

He's just a very very complicated man.

Just have a vague memory of something pretty dirty he did campaigning as a congressman or something.

You're thinking of his 1948 campaign for the Senate. That's explained in excrutiating detail in Caro's second book. That race which was between Johnson and a governor by the name of Coke Stevenson was one of the dirtiest campaigns ever. Johnson won by less than a hundred votes I think even though it was apparent that it was illegal.

There's that and his cooked up stories as to how he got the silver star.

Also, the Queen soundtrack is 75% of the reason why this film works. It's simply glorious, especially in the Hawkmen vs War Rocket Ajax battle sequence. When Brian's guitar kicks in with some killer riffs...
