Anyways, Howard's sort of right - girl cats rarely scratch (with the exception of the one that wailed on my arm last summer). Our one cat, Patch, has almost destroyed the carpeting on our staircase landing, even though there's a perfectly good cat condo with tons of areas for them to sharpen their claws, plus assorted toys and stuff. Dippy cat. His brother, however, uses the cat condo like he's supposed to. We considered getting the soft claws, but never pursued it for some reason. Never considered getting the claws removed, as there's an off chance they might get out of the house accidentally, and they'd be fucked.
