Finished Games 2021 - The Thread

So late last year I decided in order to curb my video game purchases and just owning games that don't get played for more than a few hours that in order for me to be able to purchase a new game, I'd have to beat a game I already own.

Starting on 1/1/21 I have finished the following:

1/1/21 - Call of Duty Black Ops - Cold War

1/13/21- Spider-Man - Miles Morales

I'm hoping to see a decent list by the end of the year. I really want to start finishing more games.

So far I've beaten Miles, the story mode of House Flipper and not much else.

I always tell mywelfmim going to do that...and then don't. Especially last year with the pandemic. I think this is an admirable goal, though. Maybe I should try again in solidarity.

Highly recommend this game. Some of the best levels in any of these games are in here and the Mansion level in England is probably one of my favorite levels in any of these games.

The last level was a bunch of fun as well and completely different than any other Hitman level.

Deathloop

Got some weird bugs toward the end where like my menu would half vanish, and I would have to close the game to get it to work. And a couple times I would get attacked, then enemies would freeze and do nothing for a bit, then they'd move real fast almost like they were buffering? Super fucking weird. But yeah, game fucking owns. I could see myself going back in to try to solve some of the things I didn't do, and use some of the options I didn't to kill people. Only thing that bummed me out is REAL early I figured out my combo (silence SMG, shotgun that puts through 2 slugs before you have to pump, and pistol that explodes into gas, then the health regen and buff character trinkets and double jump) and I was never tempted to change it out except for the rifle I found that bullets explode on impact. The fake Bond song rules.

Metroid Dread

Some of the enemies are a bit cheap, and the button combos it asks you to press is ridiculous. Like just awful and confusing a lot of the time while in split second decision making combat.

That said, fucking awesome game. It said it took me just under 8 hours to beat, but it doesn't count time spent from a load to death, if you die? It doesn't count the time until you hit the next autosave. Super weird. Also doesn't count time spent in deaths against bosses or cutscenes? So odd. Probably about 9.5 hours. I only had 34% of items which is fucking CRAZY because I had so much health and SO many missiles at the end.

Dread or Deathloop very likely to be my favorite game of the year. I think the only other game I finished this year is Ratchet and Clank.
