Well I played the beta, and dug it quite a bit. A lot of the mechanics are similar to WoW, but the big hook is in how the classes are set up. You get like 5 talent trees, and I think 3 souls. So you can make a melee class that has healing and DPS talents so you can heal through pain, or a tank with self healing abilities so your healers aren't stressed out, or pure healing classes that just go nuts. And the souls are basically your "stored" talent trees you can swap between.

Put a couple hours into Rift. Very familiar to WoW, but the world is VERY different, as is the talent system. I would snag it for the $10 if you're curious.

Uncharted 3 MP Beta. Controls are more loose than Sasha Grey's cooter but it's still pretty fun. I like the power play and the other new tweaks. The first part of the airstrip level is clever and great.

FEAR 3. Only a couple levels in. Nothing too OOGA-BOOGA scary so far, but goddamn the combat is tight. I dig the pseudo-cover system they threw in, and this is the most fun I've had murdering enemy AI since FEAR 1. They flank, they move from cover to cover, they flush and best of all they react verbally to the horrible things I'm visiting upon them and their friends.

Nothing like dumping a grenade towards cover where you know bad guys are hiding, running to their flank while they panic and get away from the grenade, go slomo, jam a knife in the rear guard's shoulder blade before misting another guy with the shotgun, then sprinting and slide-kicking the last guy all while he's screaming that his whole squad is down.

I'm going to have to do a Ghost Douche runthrough after I finish my BEARDED FPS HERO runthrough.

Shadows of the Damned - liked it early, now late game I want to take out the disc and punch it into oblivion. Glad it was only a rental

Picked up that new American McGee's Alice game as was sort of in the mood for a breezy platforming shooter, haven't checked it out yet but was only $20 bucks after trading in some human feces, I mean, Duke Nukem Forever.. and it comes with the original Alice game too, so not too shabby

Yes. Although I can't figure out what causes the combo to break. Is it retracing your steps? Or pulling on the "wrong" block? Anyway, it's really weird and I like it. I also like that the text message things aren't binary. You can mix and match the nice-neutral-dick statements. And, hey, I guess there's tits or something in the full game.
