Figured I would make a thread and move it here. For the uninitiated who lack Google-fu, PAX, AKA Penny Arcade Expo AKA PAX Prime in Seattle and PAX East in Boston, is a video game convention opened to the public.

I do not know much about PAX East, but I know quite a bit about PAX Prime. Use this thread if you have questions about the latter, things to do while Seattle, or want to post that you're going.

Which areas must one avoid who does not want to be murdered for their organs? Does Seattle even have this sort of area to begin with?

Seattle can be extremely sketchy, if you've listened to Braindead episode 28 or She's Right, I'm Rob episode 11. Bars in Capitol Hill and Bell Town are horrible at night, but I've heard they're fun if you don't mind the risk of getting shot.

Public transportation is awesome here (granted nowhere near NY). You can take the light rail from SeaTac to downtown Seattle (less than $2) and bus transportation is free all around the downtown area.

Getting shot? I know Nerdious lives up there. But from what I heard Seattle has a pretty low crime rate. The homeless are really pushy though.

Capitol Hill wasn't that bad.

And he's also right about beer. Some bullcrap about liqour stores only being able to sell until 9 or so, from what I remember.

Main problem about this area is that you can carry a concealed gun (with a permit) and the amount of bars in the area.

Portland also has issues with crime. Major issues.

Although how many 20-something hipsters are running around with guns? And how come Texas never seemed to have this problem?
