Somehow I missed the first game, I think I remember the demo not winning me over. Is it worth a bargain buy?

My understanding is the first game takes a lot of patience to get to the good stuff. Just download the demo for this one.

Yeah the first had it's share of problems, but if you got past them it was a fucking blast.

That's probably why I shit on the demo of the first game. Will give this one's demo a chance after that vid. Looked fun.

OK, this is the tits. I just played the demo, and wanted a second play through immediately. I was able to break into a comms station, get coordinates on a witness convoy, grapple a helicopter for a lift, jack the convoy, save the witness, steal a helo out of the air, get into a dogfight, then skydive into a town but blew up the gas station before landing. BONER.

Wow, I was just impressed that I was able to grapple and explodey barrel and ride it into the sky. I need to play this demo again. And for the record that was WAAAAY more fun than the first games demo.

Played for about an hour and a half, and it's fun, but I'm not in love yet. It's just not polished enough in any one section to make it mind blowing. The shooting and combat mechanic is fairly weak, no lock on and you have to hold in the L stick to duck but you can't move while ducking and taking cover. All the cars drive like shit. The motorcycles control well, but cars? Fuck no.

So yeah, it's fun, but man, if they had polished up combat and car mechanics it could be classic. As it is now...well I actually kind of want to get into a BC2 game after Lost tonight instead.

Yea I'm not mad at the purchase, because it's going to be a fun sandbox I can toss in at anytime, but I already think Saint's Row and San Andreas did the ridiculous more polished, but they didn't have the grappling hook.
