Actually, this is kind of true. I thought this was the case. But it's actually more drops per person. Not necessarily better. I've found two orange drops and two orange at vendors while solo'ing, while my brother has found two orange drops while solo'ing.

Also picked up the Mad Moxxi DLC last night. I FUCKING LOVE HAVING A STORAGE BANK! SO FUCKING MUCH! It's also where I found my two newest orange weapons at the vendor machine. Played through the arena and got to the second round and died fighting the boss.
