I kinda love the story. If they'd kept his bro-in-arms the fuck outta the picture, I'm pretty sure I'd be more angar at that Chinatown ending (thus more inclined to be chomping at the bit for a second round).

Sure, the lack of anything but cases to do is a monumental negative. Some great noir tropes to explore in the non-slave-labor engineered sequel though. So long as they break out of the cop mold and just go straight to the fucking gold of being a private eye.

Pretty much all of this. I fucking loved L.A. Noire. Had no issues with it for the most part. I wish there was more interrogating though, that was my favorite part.
