Brotherjackdudebrother Sean G-Money Murphy is amazing. And so are his demos.

      <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jelTniKtlZY?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Visit his site, admire and buy his work. It's also amazing.

Also, that Sean Murphy video was the goods man. I really need to get back to drawing.

Those fish aren't real, but he sure constructs a convincing illusion.

The wife loved the fish illusion art, actually said she'd like to have a small one. That's pretty high praise.

Awesome to see the process actually documented for a change.

                      Some straight up Struzan-type stuff.

Based on the Hans Christian Andersen story of the same name. I just bought a book by Hans Bacher and his small section on his time working through the designs of the project and how he would study the great Russian painters of the period (19th century).

I recall seeing it a long time ago. I didn't remember the specifics until now. A beautifully illustrated short.

Since I'll be doing painting for sequential over the summer, I restumbled upon Paolo Rivera's* blog and saw this series and was kinda won over on his system and his reliance on digital maquettes for lighting reference and the like.

I'm pretty sure I won't have the time to construct such a streamlined setup by the end of June when the class begins, but never say never.

*You may know him for his awesome limited print design for the Captain America movie from last year.

Analysis of several pieces of Syd Mead's from Blade Runner.

Color and compositional analysis within. Just adds another layer to the man who thinks up tomorrow.
