From what I read online the ending is completely different, but that's all I know. LIke Matt and I said, the first episode wasn't OMG GREAT but with the actors in the show so far, it gets at least 3 episodes. I'm hoping it gets better.

Yeah, it wasn't the best pilot. But it still gets 3 episodes. I would have given up on Hannibal after the pilot too and I'm really glad I didn't.
