Project Runway: Season...who cares

I know, wasn't it? Did you read the Project Rungay blog after? It makes her beat-down 100 times funnier!

Supposedly, tonight Michael Costello sabotages some of his former teammates from last week for their attempt in throwing him under the bus. AWESOME! I hope it works - what they tried to do to him last week was really awful.

And yeah, what they did to Michael C is flat out MEAN. He can take solace in the fact that the judges seemed to like HIS work in that group debacle.

Yeah, plus it made them look even sillier - sabotaging the guy who not only won the week before, but who made the only garment the judges liked in that whole crappy collection.

I think the thing that made me feel even worse for him was when he went into the back room, and immediately took solace with the opposing team. His opponents treated him with more kindness than his teammates did. I really hope Gretchen and Ivy go SOON.

Gretchen has legitimate talent so I doubt that she'll go. Hopefully her ego will take a step back into reality-land so that her work (and NOT her personality) will shine through.

Ivy? That's another story. She'll be going soon for sure.

Also, Casanova's dress was AWESOME.

Matt, did you catch it last night? Poor Peach finally got auf'd. She had a VERY classy exit, a lot of these designers could learn about graciousness from her. Probably one of the nicest exits I've seen in eight seasons.

AND MICHAEL C. WON AGAIN!! LOL!! Oh, my god, I think I really love him winning just so I can see the looks on Gretchen's and Ivy's faces!

So - the drama - they had to have their dresses voted on by the public (you'll see it when you watch it), and Ivy was going around, claiming that Michael C. was telling people not to vote for her because she was a bitch. Which - yes, she is, but I don't think Michael C. would go around doing that. He even publicly cleared the air with her - he caught wind of the rumor, and told her in front of all of the other designers in the work room, "Ivy, I heard the rumor that you think I went around and bad mouthed you to the voters, and I want you to know that I did not do that, and I would never do that." Simple and to the point, yes? Well, apparently, to Gretchen (I think it was her, or Ivy), no, it wasn't simple and to the point. Evidently, they think that means he clearly DID spread that rumor, because he cleared the air with her in front of everyone. And... oooookay. Sure. No, no, of course no one thinks you're crazy bitches! That made PERFECT sense. Even over at TWoP, the forumites are absolutely perplexed as to what Michael C. did to make these other designers hate him so much. Pretty much Casanova (who I'm really starting to like, he's really turning it around for a lot of the fans) was the only one who just didn't get why everyone hates Michael C.

I'm really loving this season - there are some totally entertaining characters and some really cool designs with this bunch.

Editing to add a good point that two posters made over at TWoP:

I don't know if Michael C. sabotaged Ivy or not, but if such talking behind the back happened, I would hope the editors would give the audience proof of it.

I don't buy for an instant that he said it precisely because the editors on this show would have pounced on that footage if they'd been able to catch it -- and I can't imagine they wouldn't have caught wind of it somehow -- and dropped that in like the catty treat that it would be to watch. (As dastardly as it might be, after the "lazy or ignorant" crack last week, who could blame him?)

That's not even taking into consideration that it appeared as if Ivy just decided to stomp over to Valerie and declare Michael was telling everyone she was a bitch. Where was the footage of someone telling HER that?

Hey, I DID watch it last night. About midway through the show, I knew that Peach was going home. That dress of her's...ugh. Sorry, sweetheart: that was UGLY as fuck.

The Michael C. drama has kinda been...riveting? I don't know. The producers of the show are, of course, manipulating our point of view on the subject to make him see like the hero in the situation. Whether or not it's an accurate depiction of the proceedings is moot: it's good television.

Yes, this season has got me.

I know, this is a great season so far! And yeah, poor Peach - I love her to bits, but that was just a hideous dress.

Maaatt!! (*Sniffle!*) Casanova was finally eliminated last night ! (*meep!*)

Remember how I absolutely hated him on sight when the season started? Pretty much everyone did. But he really grew on the fans over the past handful of episodes, to the point where he became pretty well loved. Case in point? Last night, for the first time ever, before Tim Gunn told him to go and clean up his workspace, they did a little "Casanova Moments Montage" that showed all the fun things he did before Tim came to the workroom to say goodbye. It was actually pretty sad! Especially since that bitch Ivy was in the bottom two with him for a FAR worse outfit.
