The only season I wasn't crazy about when I saw it was Season 5. And that was becaused I got lulled into thinking the show was "realistic". I like the idea of focusing on the gutting of the media but it was clear Simon had some axes to grind.

Yep. Plus for me, none of those characters are even as remotely interesting as Avon or Stringer or Omar or any of the other characters.

That's because you mainly see them for one season.

You don't know a lot about unions, do you? I've heard a lot of shit thought out the years. It's a corrupted world. Deserving of a season of The Wire.

Personally, I find union politics to be fascinating.

Yeah, there also a lot of criminal/political involvement, so that's why it's a prime target.

Not to mention it's a depiction of a way of life that's been dying out for decades. The idea a man with just a high school education could go out and get a well paying factory job and support a family on it.

Speaking of union problems, you should see what's going on with our nurse's union here in MN. They did a one day walkout strike two weeks ago to prove a point...NOW, they've approved a full strike with an indeterminate end date. They're using this threat to bring the hospitals to the bargaining table...hopefully they won't do it.

I heard about that, a judge over here stopped nurses from doing a 1-day solidarity strike.

Watched episode 2 and half of 3 last night. So far, I'm digging the hell out of this season. Also, I'm totally laughing my ASS off at the police surveillance van theft...PLEASE tell me that that van goes totally around the world.

My favorite part of this season so far? McNulty sticking it to Rawls.
- Faxing information to the powers that be that the floater MUST have been in Baltimore's jurisdiction. Rawls is not happy.
- Faxing information to the powers that be that the 13 girls that died in the container MUST have been in Baltimore's jurisdiction when they died. Rawls is PISSED.

I can't wait to see him go to the fax machine again. Funny as hell.
