Personally, I think that he's pretty wretched and unconvincing as an actor. He's blank and expressionless unless he's doing his patented JACKFACE™.

To his credit, Fox was pretty much the ONLY THING in 'Speed Racer' that I enjoyed...but then again, that 'character' fit with his very limited range. He was TERRIBLE in 'We are Marshall'.

I think he had some good stuff as Jack, but the show really ruined Kate and Jack by the end of season 2. I really like him in Speed Racer.

When the sum of a thespian's entire career can be summed up with "He was pretty good in 'Speed Racer'!"... then it's time to find another line of work.

I voted for "a little bit of both". He has his moments on "LOST" that are great, and his moments on the show that are laughable, so I truly don't think it's entirely his fault.

And also, from a lady's point of view, he's SO damn pretty that who really pays attention to the acting? (honestly, at the risk of sounding corny, my breath actually caught in my throat a little when he said to Claire, "We're family") But then throw in the JackTard face he gets from time to time, and it's hard to place myself squarely on just one side of the fence.
