I'm with Rob on the Pierce thing. They turned the asshole meter to 11 or 12 on this one. Protip: If you need to turn the character into a caricature of himself to make the point you're doing it wrong.

There were moments where that side of the character worked, mostly when he was having a glass of wine on his throne of senility, but it all came crashing down in nearly every other instance.

They should never have let his legs heal.
