I got into wrestling around the time Macho Man started. I saw the big rush of managers trying to sign him (Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Jimmy Hart, etc.) only for Savage to bring out Miss Elizabeth, and I was hooked. Followed him through the WWF years, right into WCW during the Monday Night Wars.
Dude also did some cartoon voice-over cameos (Wrasslor in Dial M for Monkey is one), and like Ari said, dude was Bonesaw McGraw in the first Spider-Man flick.
Sucks.
ETA: One really hilarious moment with Savage was this one time I caught a WWF show on one of the Spanish TV stations here. Savage was doing his schtick, trash talking Hulk Hogan: "OOOOHHHHHH YEAH! Hogan's gonna feel Macho Madness this Saturday Night!" and the Spanish "Mean" Gene Okerlund-wannabe translates Macho Man's speech for his audience" "OOOOOHHHH SI!"
