Say goodbye to comics legend Al Williamson, age 79. The man was an inspiration to me as much as Frazetta was, especially his work in the old Creepy and Eerie magazines, as well as drawing Secret Agent X-9 and Flash Gordon in the newspaper funnies. He was also one of the best artists working at Marvel back in the day (see his Star Wars film adaptions).

I've been buying up those Dark Horse Creepy and Eerie reprint collections - lots of great Williamson and Frazetta stuff, along with some Wally Wood, etc. Highly recommended.
I tell ya, Hogarth, along with Eisner, were required reading at the Kubert School. Wish more comic artists today would pay more attention in how things used to be.Comment
