    Apparently the 'rumor' has been going around all day, but some of the major news orgs are starting to pick it up. The fact that his official site has the statement indicates that it may be the real deal.

          Shit. Just heard about Dio's passing a few minutes ago. I concur with Billy - Dio always had a blast performing live, and it showed. RIP, Holy Diver.

          Deepest condolences to Wendy, his family and friends.

                    He was diagnosed with stomach cancer late last year. For a while, he looked like he was going to beat it... but the chemo did not take.

                    This saddens me. When I was in HS, the band I played in covered almost the whole "Holy Diver' album.

                            Last night the house music before the ROLLINS show was all Dio, all the time. At the start of the show, Henry talked about it and how Dio was the man. It was awesome.
