day. Keith Flint from The Prodigy has died. I'd wager a decent chunk of you don't know who is he based on his name alone. But I also guarantee that you do know who he is based on this video. He IS the firestarter. While their album "Music for the Jilted Generation" is one of my favorite albums of all time, this song propelled them into the mainstream. RIP Keith.

Yeah, after staring the episode with the Improv Quickening I just couldn't find a good time for it. We can still mention it next episode since I can tell some stories.

I made a note of it but the proper time just never seemed to come up.

I worked with Brody when I first started at Fox; he was the warm up guy for the Best Damn Sports Show audience. He was a legit funny dude with a thankless job that he consistently nailed. After the show ended and I saw him pop up in The Hangover I wrote him and he remembered me so we reconnected via Facebook. I was just watching a video of him playing drums in his car (which he did for years) a day before I heard of his death. Just sad as hell.

I got to see them during their 1987 tour with Weird Al Yankovic as the opening act. Highlight of the afternoon show was Davy Jones popping up in a hair metal/ spandex tiger stripe outfit belting out a tune and Peter chastising him, yelling "DAVID LEE JONES!!!!"

I loved the Monkees as a kid and can still listen to quite a few things from them today.

Peter hasn't been making appearances lately, only Mike and Mickey.
MeTV will be running a couple of Peter-centric Monkees episodes on Sunday. My guess is that one will be "The Devil and Peter Tork" and the second may be the one with the Russian ballerina.
Gonna miss him. One of my best friends (other than Tim and you guys) and I will be doing our own Tork Tribute when we get together.

Heard about Tork this afternoon - he was Jen's favorite Monkee.

We're supposed to get Mickey and Mike next month at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank. I'm expecting a tribute to Peter will be in the offering.

In a weird bit of synchronicity, I just happened to get an alert that The Monkees were coming to town. Guessing that's changing.
