          Earl Norem, pulp/fantasy/comic/toy packaging artist, dead at 91. If you ever owned a He-Man figure, read a comic book, saw a kick-ass fantasy/sci-fi book cover, or picked up a Manly Man Adventure paperback, you saw his shit and were thankful!

                              Damn shame, he was a legend and went WAY too soon. Got to really appreciate his work when I was at the Kubert School and my roommate would play nothing but Yes and related bands/side projects like ABWH, and Jon and Vangelis. Constantly. All day. Every day. Entire time I was there.*

                              *Felt like Klaus in that episode of American Dad where he was trapped in a hotel room, forced to listen to the same commercials on his TV over and over and over again.

                                I nwever cared for his sound, but there was no denying his skill/ I found some stuff on the web about using effects with a bass, and his bassline for Tempus Fugit was linked to it. I had never heard that song, but the author pointed out how his use of a flanger gave the song a "sweeping feel". It did, and it was glorious.
                                I like the way the line runs up the back of the stocking.
