    I really loved him in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". I think he had a lot of fun with that role.

    I liked his Smee in "Hook". He was a bit less cuddly than the traditional Disney version.

                              He's one of the forefathers of the 80s alternative/punk comedy scene. The Young Ones is probably the most influential British sitcom of its decade and Mayall's turns as Lord Flashheart in Blackadder were always the high point in an incredible show. He disappeared in recent years, largely due to illness but also because his comedy was always manic (Bottom, which has not aged well, consisted almost entirely of 2 men hitting each other with various tools and utensils and ending up in a toilet bowl - they took that on a stage tour for most of the 90s) and the world kind of moved on.

                              He's one of those personalities that even if you didn't like anything he did, you couldn't deny his energy and talent. But you probably still loved Flashheart.
