We also lost Neal Adams last week, too. Both he and Perez had a massive hand in shaping the look and feel of DC Comics visually back in the day. Adams' Batman in the 70s did more for me in defining the character than any other artist, including Frank Miller's take, which Hollywood still can't let go of.
Perez could cram a massive amount of detail into a panel, and not overwhelm the reader - a very deft trick that few artists nowadays can pull off. Team books like Teen Titans (the most legendary of his comics work), Justice League, and the Avengers, were easily his bread and butter, and that made me a big fan of his.

George Perez died.
Only met him once, but he is one of the pinnacle Marvel/DC artists of the last 45 years.
So much of modern DC is shaped by his designs.

According to Twitter, Mike Hagerty passed.
One of the first "THAT GUY!" character-actors I noticed growing up thanks to Overboard and Wayne's World. RIP.Last edited by FilmNerdJamie; 05-06-2022, 09:20 AM.

Guy LeFleur was the real deal. I'm not a big hockey guy but I remember him.

Maybe Mike will get it, but having local hockey legend Guy Lafleur dying is sad as fuck.
This is the guy that offered me a fresh Coke after I moved a friend 20 years ago. (His son was living nearby, and he was actually gonna help us but we finished) And accounts of his patience and generosity are legendary. The most down to earth sport star ever.
He was the best hockey player of the 70s. Easy. And underpaid AS FUCK. One of the last.
Viggo Mortensen must be pretty bummed too. He was his fave player, as he’s a diehard Habs fan. He flew to Montreal 10 years ago for the 100 anniversary of the team JUST TO INTRODUCE HIM.
