    'Written and Directed' - My Podcast

    Guys, Rob said it's ok to throw up the link to my new podcast here.

    Essentially it's my mate Richard getting me to read a book and me getting him to watch a film and each week's choices are loosely linked by a theme. I'll post each episode individually and I'd love any feedback or suggestions you guys have got.

    Episode 1 - Nerdy Geek

    Nerd Do Well written by Simon Pegg vs Dredd directed by Pete Travis

    Episode 2 - Wilderness

    Heart of Darkness written by Joseph Conrad vs Grizzly Man directed by Werner Herzog

    Episode 3 - Sound and Light

    Berberian Sound Studio directed by Peter Strickland vs Lightwritten by M John Harrison

    Awesome. I listened to the first one a couple of weeks ago and loved it. I'll give the other two a go.

              The 'fifth' one is pretty weak, cos it was April Fools and we got drunk recording it. But the latest one, the real episode 5, I'm pretty happy with.

                Episode 6 and 7 are looking at film adaptations of the books of Watchmen (Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons) and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (Ron Hansen).

                Very happy with these ones, would love comments.

                    Guys, episode 9 is up and it's all about Amateur Porn. Kinda.

                    I'm really happy with this one and there's a film we discuss that more people need to see.

                      I've subscribed to this and have them all downloaded. I just need to listen to the damned things...haven't had time.

                        Just so you know, episode 8 was about French crime and includes a discussion of Rififi, which if you haven't seen it, you must.

                        Episode 10 just went up and includes Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Enjoy.

                            Episode 11 is up (also on iTunes) and we're looking at Five Easy Pieces and Paul Auster's New York Trilogy and discussing outsiders and identity. Probably our best discussion yet.
