1) It's a living EC Comic.
2) It's still one of the most taut Romero films.
3) Wonderful score.
4) It's a highlight reel for the best in early 80s American Horror.
5) Ed Harris dancing.
6) Tom "The Lord" Atkins
7) Leslie Nielsen towards the end of his actor era, right before the dawn of the Parody Era.
8) King's script managing to balance old-world horror sensibilities with the modern visual overload of gore.
9) It's not Hackers.
10) Standing out as an indie horror film that was only picked up by Warner Brothers after initial shooting, Romero's Creepshow showed the last pangs of true horror before the major studios took it over. In the start of an era where horror became franchises led by wise-cracking monsters, Creepshow dared to offer up new ideas based on older sensibilities. While the over-the-top comic styling might annoy newer viewers, it's representative of an aesthetic that has longed passed. Does that make the film harder to approach? Sure, but you have to appreciate the sheer fact that it was trying to be a different horror film at the end of a sluggish era.
My readers come to me for my thoughts and opinions. I've built myself into a brand
I'd say The Crazies is one of the most taut Romero films, but you can't deny this movie clips along at a good pace
3) Wonderful score.
Not gonna lie, didn't really pay much attention to the score when we were watching it. We were also pretty fucked up, so take that as you will
4) It's a highlight reel for the best in early 80s American Horror.
This is debatable. Only two of the vignettes come close to horror IMO the rest are pretty fucking campy/not horrific
5) Ed Harris dancing.
I said that this was great
6) Tom "The Lord" Atkins
See above. I <3 Tom.
7) Leslie Nielsen towards the end of his actor era, right before the dawn of the Parody Era.
He was fine, but I hated the story.
8) King's script managing to balance old-world horror sensibilities with the modern visual overload of gore.
This seems to fall in line with the reason I fucking HATED Trick R Treat. None of the stories did anything for me for the most part. I still prefer Tales from the Darkside (but I also said that it's been awhile since I've seen that one as well, so it could be complete shit)
9) It's not Hackers.
I know, Hackers has a better soundtrack and is more entertaining. Plus Angelina Jolie's tits.
10) Standing out as an indie horror film that was only picked up by Warner Brothers after initial shooting, Romero's Creepshow showed the last pangs of true horror before the major studios took it over. That is all good and well, however I'm of the camp that prefers my horror with wise-cracking monsters. None of the stories in this really did much for me (except for The Crate, I still dig that one) but it's more of a personal thing. I'm not going to say that HACKERS is a better made movie than CREEPSHOW (it's not), however in my opinion HACKERS is more entertaining which in my mind makes it a better movie.

And Creepshow fucking sucks. Unless we're talking nostalgia factor for you? Because pretty much nothing works in the movie IMO. And I love me some Stephen King and Romero.
